You can do lots of things, many quite well, others as an expert – but does doing what you do make you feel purposeful? Does what you do for a living or vocation have real meaning to you? A good way to answer this is to ask yourself:
Has what you did 5 or 10 or 15 years ago delivered meaning to your life?
This is a profound question as it makes you think in a way that we are not used to. Rather than asking what have you acquired, what possessions or money have you attained, the real question is what meaning did you get out of it ? Many people are unable to answer this as they don’t know how to measure meaning and therefore cannot assert if they have achieved it or not?
Meaning is deemed by all the major life philosophies as the most important pursuit in life; find meaning in what you do and you will always be at peace, no matter how much you suffer.
Good luck with your search. The good news is that to find it you just need to stop for a while and listen to what your subconscious mind is telling you.
